From shed to sanctuary
Michelle and Darren acquired the Shed in 2001, where they raised their two sons while developing both a lifestyle block and a successful business. By 2023, they decided it was time to initiate a new chapter—transforming the expansive shed into a contemporary family residence.
GREEN RENOVATION, ASHBURTON
The shed becomes a home
The interior renovation was substantial, including the demolition of substandard partition walls and the restoration of uneven floor levels. Enclosed spaces were reconfigured to establish an impressive entrance, highlighted by double steel doors.
Michelle was drawn to the unique curve of the building and possessed a clear and refined vision for the interior spaces. Through a collaborative process marked by careful attention to detail from both the clients and the Stu Bell team, Stage One of the project has been completed to an exemplary standard.
"Their craftsmanship is second to none and attention to detail was meticulous. The guys were so easy to have in our home for a number of months while the renos were taking place. We missed them when they had gone as they were like part of the family. Now for Stage 2" - Michelle and Darren
